As a student-run project, this excavation would be impossible without all the helping hands of volunteers and support of the local people who donate their time and energy to Ein el-Jarba. Nevertheless, a financial budget is necessary, to cover unavoidable expenses. These include:
- food and accommodation
- rental cars and fuel
- field equipment
- plastic bags and boxes for find storage
- rental of machines like JCB for removal of excavated soil etc.
Most research grants are accessible only to post-doctoral researchers. I am however convinced that doctoral students can perform equally well in research and I am unwilling to wait until I meet formal criteria. This means that I am dependent on financial support from private donors. Every even very small donation makes a difference and is highly appreciated.
