In our first season of excavation we opened six squares of altogether 150 m2. Three squares were excavated to architectural remains. The walls are to be reconstructed to four Early Bronze Age oval houses. In a 1 x 1.5 m sondage, a Wadi Rabah floor with a belonging wall has been uncovered beneath the Early Bronze Age remains. This find confirms the choice of excavation area.
Our team encompassed between 10 and 14 people who showed great endurance in this very strenuous first season. We overcame minor (unexpected rain-shower followed by mud) as well as more substantial perils (the controlled detonation of explosives in the excavation area) and achieved the goal of the first season.
Beside the daily archaeological work, the international mixture of creative and strong personalities enriched the week greatly with many many interesting and funny conversations.
The next season is in planing, and I hope to see you back
